FoodCycle Oldham Later Start Cooking Team
This slot is for volunteers who want to be part of the cooking team but can't arrive until a bit later. The main cooking team starts at 4.30pm and we usually serve the first course around 6.15pm.
Depending on what we are cooking and how many cooks we have, the late start role may be involved in helping to finish the cooking, preparing the dessert etc. Some weeks the main cooking team will already have everything prepped and cooking and the late start role will be more about serving, washing up and cleaning in the kitchen.
The cooking team is in charge of turning the surplus goods into amazing dishes. Everything from choosing, chopping, cooking (& sampling) are the main roles of the team, along with ensuring that we wash-up as we go and clean up at the end. You'll also get a chance to sit with the guests and enjoy our creations.
Although the session may run until 8.30pm, most weeks we would aim to be finished by 8pm.
