Christmas Street Collection 2017 - Sunday 17th December

On Sunday 17th December we'll be taking to the streets of Manchester city centre with buckets and collecting tins in hand collecting donations to help us continue our work building community and fighting hunger and food waste here in Manchester and throughout the country.
This will be the last weekend before Christmas and with people out shopping and revellers hitting the markets town will be heaving and we’re hoping to collect a lot of loose change from passers-by. Last year a group of around 20 of us raised a whopping £512.13 and we're confident that with more people on board we can smash that and raise even more.
Christmas fancy dress is strongly encouraged but entirely optional. Seeing people dressed up as reindeers, elves and Santa really grabs people’s attention and makes them more likely to come up and chat to us and donate (as well as ask for hugs and photos). This page is just for info - please sign up here.* We're asking people to help out with just one hour of their weekend between midday and 6pm. You can of course do more than one shift and shifts don't have to be consecutive. Printworks have very kindly given us free use of their meeting facilities for use for storage, changing rooms for fancy dress and breaks. To help us best plan the logistics of the day please try and sign up no later than the evening of Sunday 10th December.
Finally if anyone is lucky enough to have an employer that matches their fundraising efforts now wouldn't be a bad time to make the most of it! And collecting isn't just limited to registered volunteers so feel free to ask friends, family and colleagues to help out too.
